The big game is nigh!

The Somerset Patriots (Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees) and Erie Seawolves (Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) are just a couple hours away from squaring off for all the marbles in the Double-A Eastern League Championship Series at TD Bank Ballpark. First pitch is at 6:35, and can be heard on Fox Sports New Jersey 93.5 FM, 1450 AM.

The Patriots and Seawolves were consistently the two best teams in the Double-A East all season long, with Somerset posting a league best 83 wins. Erie was just behind them with 80 wins.

On Tuesday, the Patriots thumped the Seawolves to the tune of 9-2, with Austin Wells playing a staring role, slugging a three-run homer in the bottom of the first.

In fact Wells has more RBI than any Patriots player since his call-up on July 5 with 51. That's mighty impressive for the Yankees number four prospect, and top rated catcher in its system.

Randy Vasquez will get the ball tonight when the Patriots take the field this evening. Vasquez is 2-7 with a 3.90 ERA this season. He earned his first Double-A postseason victory last week against the Portland Seadogs when he gave up three runs in 5.2 innings in a Somerset 9-4 victory.

It's going to be an amazing and historic night. Tune in or come on down!
