Jason Momoa attends the 94th Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood and Highland on March 27, 2022 in Hollywood, California.

Jason Momoa shocked fans when he posted a video shaving his hair off recently. Now, the See star is shocking fans once again, revealing a head tattoo very casually in another post.

The 43-year-old actor, filmed himself getting his luscious locks cut in a video posted to Instagram earlier this month (September 5) in an effort to spread awareness to his 17.1 million followers to eliminate the use of single-use plastics from their lives. “Hand me those braids,” he told the person trimming his tresses before holding up his chopped tresses. “Shaving off the hair. Ooh, man! I’ve never even felt the wind right there!”

He captioned the post, “Be better at protecting our land and oceans. We need to cut single use plastics out of our lives and out of our seas. Plastic bottles, plastic bags, packaging, utensils all of it. Let’s aloha our ‘āina together aloha j.”

Now, Momoa is showing off the full look, which includes a tribal tattoo on the side of his head. Starting off the video by showing off his forearm tattoo, the actor said, “Going to New Zealand finally!” Shouting out Hawaiian airlines for using his Mananalu aluminum water bottles, Momoa continues to say, “I got something for you, something special for you.” He lifts his derby hat to reveal a traditional tribal tattoo. “Chief of War, coming baby,” cheekily removing his hat as he boards an airplane.

By the sounds of it, Momoa may be flying to New Zealand for the first time in two years since Covid-19 to begin production on his new Apple TV+ historical drama series, Chief of War.

According to a report from Variety, the show is said to follow an epic telling of the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view. Justin Chon has signed on to direct and executive produce the first two episodes of the series. Chon helmed and executive produced multiple episodes of the critically-acclaimed Apple series Pachinko. Chon most recently wrote, directed, and starred in the feature Blue Bayou.
