By Steven Cusumano

Hartford, Connecticut – The Somerset Patriots (80-48) won their fourth straight game vs. the Hartford Yard Goats (72-57) on Friday night, behind a go-ahead ninth inning home run from Jeisson Rosario.

It was the second straight night that Somerset took the lead in a tie game in the top of the ninth inning, as Rosario blasted his career-high ninth long ball of the season.

Max Burt supplied the Patriots with their first run of the game on an RBI-single in the fifth inning that scored Jesus Bastidas to give the Patriots a 1-0 lead.

Hartford scratched out one run in the next half-inning off of Patriots starter Randy Vasquez, who allowed the game's only run over six innings.

Aaron Mcgarity (3-0) earned the win, pitching two scoreless innings in relief of Vasquez, while Carson Coleman locked down his Yankees MiLB leading 19th save of the season with a perfect ninth inning.

Somerset's fourth straight win over Hartford secures the team's 14th series win of the season and vaults the Patriots to a season-best 32 games over .500 with the best record in all of Double-A baseball at 80-48.

The 2022 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on Friday night in Hartford with a 6:05 p.m. first pitch at Dunkin Donuts Park.
