Brian Daboll will pass the offensive playbook to coordinator Mike Kafka on Sunday when the New York Giants travel to Tennessee to open the season Sunday at 4:25 against the Titans.
Daboll, who cut his teeth as the Offensive Coordinator of the Buffalo Bills the past four years, building one of the game's most prolific offenses, will hand it off to Kafka, who certainly has seen his fair share of spectacular offense having served as the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Of course running an offense through Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes is vastly different than running it through Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, whom the Giants are betting (possibly) one last time to showcase he is worthy of the mantra as the franchise starting quarterback. Jones didn't see too much action in the preseason, but the Giants are betting the new system and a healthy core around him will pay dividends over the course of the season.
Kafka already called the plays for the Giants during the preseason where Big Blue average 382.7 yards per game.
"I was pleased with really the whole offensive staff and how they approached the preseason and how Mike did things," Daboll said last week.
