PATRIOTS 7 - RUMBLE PONIES 1

Binghamton, New York – The Somerset Patriots (75-47) pieced together a 7-1 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (49-73) on Friday night, behind a gem from starting pitcher Randy Vasquez and another strong offensive night.

Vasquez earned his second win of the season with 6.2 innings in which he allowed only one run on four hits, with no walks and four strikeouts.

Austin Wells collected 4 RBIs, including a three-run triple that got Somerset's scoring started in the third inning.

Wells added an RBI-single in Somerset's three-run seventh inning that capped the scoring. The inning began with Eric Wagaman smacking a leadoff home run (4) and ended with Brandon Lockridge collecting the second of his two hits, an RBI-double.

Wagaman, along with Elijah Dunham, each scored two runs in the game.

Matt Minnick and Kaleb Cowart combined to pitch the remainder of the game, keeping Binghamton off the scoreboard.

Yankees No. 9 prospect RHP Clayton Beeter will get the start for Somerset opposite Rumble Ponies RHP Jesus Vargas.
