Highly touted Yankees catching prospect Austin Wells continues to shine in Somerset. The fourth best prospect in the Yankees farm system, crushed a grand slam home run on Sunday to cap off an eight-run fourth inning as the Patriots stomped on the New Hampshire Fischer Cats 8-1.

The Patriots had scored the first four runs of the inning thanks to a pair of hit batters with the bases loaded, and a two-base throwing error by New Hampshire. Finally Wells delivered the back-breaker, his ninth homer of the season for Somerset.

Will Warren got the victory to improve to 7-4 on the season. He gave up an unearned run over six innings of work.

Somerset is 73-46 overall on the season, the best record by one game over the Erie Seawolves in the entire Eastern League.
