While the current New York Giants are looking for an identity, the past is very much a worthy prologue to emulate.

One of football's most storied franchises, the Giants announced seven more members will be added to Big Blue's Ring of Honor this season.

The honorees include running backs: Otis Anderson, Joe Morris, and Rodney Hampton; defensive end Leonard Marshall; Vice President of Medical Services Ronnie Brown; defensive back Jimmy Patton and wide receiver Kyle Rote.

Rote and Patton will be inducted posthumously.

Ronnie Brown has worked with the Giants organization for 47 years on the team's medical staff.

Marshall, Anderson, Morris and Hampton are all well known to Giants fans for their contributions to New York's Super Bowl teams in 1986 and 1990.

Anderson played six-plus years in a Giants uniform from 1986-1992. His efforts in Super Bowl XXV against the Buffalo Bills in New York's 20-19 victory is one of legend. Anderson ran for 2,274 yards in his Giants career.

Joe Morris played for Big Blue from 1982-1988, and one year in Cleveland in 1991 when Bill Belichick was Head Coach. Morris rushed for 5,296 yards in 94 career games as a Giant.

Hampton played in New York from 1990-1997. He was drafted in 1990, had six 1,000 yard rushing season, and would rush for 6,897 yards in his career. With the emergence of Tiki Barber in 1997, Hampton's Giant's tenure came to an end.

Leonard Marshall had a legendary Giants career, recording 79.5 sacks in his Giants career, and winning two Super Bowl titles. He also spent one season with the Jets in 1993, and Washington Commanders in 1994. In his post playing career Marshall was head coach at Hudson Catholic for one season in 2010.

The addition of the seven men brings the total Giants Ring of Honor to 50. The ceremony will be held during halftime of the Giants September 26 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
