Mets 10 - Reds 2

The Mets brought out the brooms on Wednesday afternoon, sweeping away the listless Cincinnati Reds 10-2 at Citi Field to improve to 73-39, a season-best 34 games over .500, and they had a couple of their trade deadline acquisitions to thank for the victory.

Tyler Naquin, whom the Mets acquired from the Reds, had a huge afternoon with a double and a solo homer as the Mets built an early 6-0 lead.

Voglebach continued to add to his totals since coming to New York. The big man had a pair of hits and three RBI, including a two-run double where the ball bounced off the first base bag and trickled down the right field line.

Jeff McNeil and Francisco Lindor also remain hot at the dish. McNeil had an RBI double and a sac fly, while Lindor had a pair of hits and two RBI's to increase his total to 81 RBI's on the season.

Taijuan Walker earned his 10th win of the year, tossing six solid innings, allowing only two runs.

After a day off, the Mets host the Phillies on Friday.
