Bridgewater, NJ -- The Somerset Patriots (62-39) outlasted the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (39-62) in a Sunday night thriller, winning 8-6 on the heels of Brandon Lockridge's 10th homer of the season.

Entering the eighth inning trailing 6-5 in the game, Lockridge sent a three-run home run over the left field wall, Somerset's third homer of the game which acted as the winning blow.

Jesus Bastidas (13) and Austin Wells (4) also went deep to open up the Patriots' scoring. Rodolfo Duran added a two-run double as part of a three-run fourth inning.

Somerset trailed in the game by as much as 6-2, when starter Deivi Garcia left the game after 3.1 innings pitched.

From that point, the Patriots bullpen hurled 5.2 shutout innings, led by Nick Ernst, Barrett Loseke, Kaleb Cowart and Carson Coleman.

Cowart earned his first win of the season with a perfect eighth inning. The converted position player also posted his first win as a member of the Yankees organization, his second career win and his first since 2019.

Coleman put on the finishing touches with his ninth save of the season, stranding the tying runs on base to end the game.

The Patriots won the final two games of the series, following their season-long four-game losing streak that opened the week vs. Binghamton.

The 2022 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Tuesday with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Hartford Yard Goats at TD Bank Ballpark. Tickets are available at somersetpatriots.com.
