The Scarlet Knights have added to their defensive line corps with the addition of ex-Texas A&M defensive end Jahzion Harris. Harris is transferring to RU, but entered the portal late -- the deadline is May 1. He will need a waiver to complete the season according to 24/7 sports.

Last year, Harris chose to go to Texas A&M after deciding between the Aggies, Rutgers, LSU, Ohio State, and Michigan. He recorded four tackles and a sack in his only season for A&M.

The 6-4, 220 lb. edge rusher is from Brooklyn, New York, and went to high school at Erasmus Hall.

The news comes as Rutgers is also waiting to see if Drew Singleton can rejoin the team as he appeals the NCAA's rejection of his reinstatement into the program after he declared for the NFL Draft following last season.

During last week's Media Day, head coach Greg Schiano confirmed the appeal has been put in, and that he hopes Singleton is granted his right to play this season.
