Bridgewater, NJ – Minor League Baseball has announced that Somerset Patriots RHP Will Warren has been named their Double-A Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for July 4 – July 10.  

Warren, the New York Yankees No. 27 prospect, pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out five batters to register a win against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) on July 7. It was Warren’s longest start of his career.  

Across his last five starts, Warren has maintained a 1.33 ERA and amassed 29 strikeouts through 27.1 innings with a 3-1 record.  

The right-handed hurler from Brandon, Mississippi was selected in the eighth round of the 2021 draft by the Yankees out of Southeastern Louisiana and is currently in his debut season in the minor leagues.

Before being promoted to Double-A Somerset in late-May, Warren began 2022 with High-A Hudson Valley and made eight starts with a 2-3 record, 3.60 ERA and 42 strikeouts. 

In seven starts with the Patriots, Warren has compiled a 4-2 record with a 2.37 ERA and 32 strikeouts. 

Warren is the fourth Patriot this season to receive MiLB honors and the third to win Pitcher of the Week. OF Blake Perkins (Player, April 18- April 24), RHP Jhony Brito (Pitcher, April 25-May 1) and RHP Randy Vasquez (Pitcher, May 9-May 15) have previously been recognized as the Eastern League’s top weekly performers.
