It has been a week since Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. Durant still has four years left on his contract and with the type of player Durant is, the Nets are asking for a historic haul. Will they get what they are asking for?
REPORT: The Nets thought there would be a “massive” bidding war for Kevin Durant, and, while there’s a ton of interest, the bidding war reportedly isn’t “hot”.— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) July 7, 2022

On Friday Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Wolves in return gave the Jazz 4 first-round picks and five players including Patrick Beverley, Malik Beasley, and their first-round pick from this year Walker Kessler.
This is relevant because this Gobert trade has set the market well at least the Nets may feel that way.

The Timberwolves declined.

The Wolves could’ve made this trade but would it be worth it to ship off your future to win right now. There have been reports that the Warriors are interested in taking back Durant but once again is it worth it. A young core that is already established and a culture that is unlike any other.
Durant wants to go to the Miami Heat or Phoenix Suns but both teams can’t do a one-on-one trade with the Nets. This will need to be a multi-team trade in order for Durant to go where he wants. Things became a little more complicated over the weekend but the Nets still have time. Summer League starts tonight and usually the general managers around the league will get together. Maybe things will heat up this weekend.
Kyrie Irving is another Net that wants out and his intentions are clear he wants to go to Los Angeles to play for the Lakers. From reports around the league, Irving is focused on staying with the Lakers beyond this year. If he were to get traded somewhere else it will only be for a year.
