The 2022 Esports Awards are kicking off with some major news as the open nomination period is over and we now have some of the finalists that you can vote for right now.

The Esports Awards are similar to the game awards and focus on the best content creators around the world as well as the best Esports titles. This is an annual event that has grown massively over the last year with it being reported in 2021 that over 10 million votes were cast and millions of viewers tuned into the ceremony. Now for 2022 thanks to the team’s official Twitter account, we are getting lists of finalists for what will be another fierce year for the competition.

Top Esports Game of the Year is a title that no matter how you look at it shows that you are the best of the best. We saw some familiar titles such as Dota2, League of Legends, and CSGO. However, unlike last year’s game awards, Call of Duty didn’t seem to make the cut, being replaced with other popular FPS games such as Fortnite, Rainbow 6 siege, and Apex Legends. Each title is certainly worthy in its own genre but altogether personally it feels imbalanced as the popularity of MMOBA games can be argued as being much higher than most FPS games. However, we may get proven wrong as last year Valorant broke the League of Legends’ two-year win streak for the award.

However, there is also the sport for Streamer of The Year, with some of the most well-known content creators on both Twitch and YouTube alike duking it out. With both English and Spanish-speaking streamers, this is sure to be one of the most popular categories in the event.

Though we still have plenty of time to vote and learn about other categories before showtime. To vote check their website by Clicking Here. Otherwise, you’ll be able to watch the 2022 Esports Awards live on December 13th, 2022, or be there in person at the Resorts World Theater in Las Vegas. Until then we’ll keep you posted about all your favorite Esports content right here on Fox Sports New Jersey.
