Rutgers football will host its annual homecoming game this October 22 when the Scarlet Knights meet up with the Indiana Hoosiers.

The announcement was made Tuesday afternoon via Rutgers social media. All alumni and letter-winners will be invited to attend the game which will kick off at 12 noon.

The game will mark the 88th homecoming game in Rutgers history. RU is 53-33-1 in the event all-time which dates back to 1933. The only year the game did not take place was 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year Rutgers lost its homecoming game to Michigan State 31-13 on October 9.  The last time Rutgers won on Homecoming weekend was in 2017 when it defeated Purdue 14-12 on October 21, 2017.

According to Scarletknights.com, "Giveaways for RU's game with the Hoosiers include "Beat Indiana" buttons, shakers, and posters that can be picked up beginning at 9 a.m. at the pregame pep rally. Along Scarlet Knight Way, the Rutgers Boardwalk will feature various food trucks, rides, and carnival games. The Marching Scarlet Knights will also welcome back alumni with joint performances during pregame and at halftime. RU's national champion spirit squad will dawn throwback uniforms and hold performances with its alumni throughout the day."
