Bridgewater, NJ – The Hartford Yard Goats (43-24) defeated the Somerset Patriots (42-25) by a final score of 5–2 before a crowd of 6,505 at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday night.

On an MLB rehab assignment, Yankees LHP Aroldis Chapman threw a scoreless top of the seventh and struck out one batter.

Mickey Gasper (4) and Michael Beltre (3) then retaliated in the bottom of the inning with solo home runs on back-to-back pitches which cut the deficit to one.

Datres pushed Hartford’s lead back up to two the next inning on an RBI double that knocked in Aaron Schunk.
