METS 2 - ROCKIES 0

Even with injuries to three of its starting pitchers, the Mets have not slowed down, winning another series on Sunday behind seven superlative innings by Taijuan Walker as the Mets topped the Rockies 2-0.

Walker was brilliant, holding the Rockies scoreless over seven innings of five-hit ball. Walker's effort was the second excellent effort by a Mets starter since Max Scherzer went down with a oblique strain that will sideline him for two months. On Saturday, Carlos Carrasco delivered a solid performance, holding the Rockies to a run on seven hits over 5.1 innings pitched to improve to 4-1 on the season.

The Mets need those kind of efforts until Scherzer, Jacob deGrom and Tylor Megill make their returns to the rotation.

Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso provided the only RBIs for the Mets on Sunday, with Lindor driving in the first run on a RBI single in the sixth inning.  Alonso drove in Lindor on a ground out for his MLB leading 37th RBI of the year.

The Mets visit the San Francisco Giants on Monday night.
