Bridgewater, New Jersey – The Somerset Patriots (10-6) defeated the Portland Sea Dogs (9-7) by a score of 2-1 on a walk-off in the series opener at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday night.  

With the ballgame tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the 10th inning, Mickey Gasper brought in the go-ahead run on an RBI infield single.  

After three scoreless innings, the Sea Dogs got on the board first in the fourth inning with an Izzy Wilson RBI double. 

Andres Chaparro tied the game in the seventh with a towering solo home run (3).  

Somerset’s bullpen did not allow a run in six innings of work and struck out 10 batters. Derek Craft (1-2) earned the win after pitching a scoreless 10th inning and posting two strikeouts.  

Oddanier Mosqueda (0-1) took the loss with an earned run on a hit in 0.1 innings pitched. Mitch Spence threw four innings and allowed a run while striking out two hitters in a no decision.

The 2022 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Wednesday, April 27th with a 6:35 pm game against the Portland Sea Dogs at TD Bank Ballpark.
