Blake Perkins of the Somerset Patriots had a HR and a 2-run double in a 9-1 victory, April 24, 2022.

Hartford, Connecticut- The Somerset Patriots (9-6) defeated the Hartford Yard Goats (7-8) by a score of 9-1 at Dunkin’ Donuts Park on Sunday afternoon.

Somerset jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first on a wild pitch, an RBI groundout by Jeisson Rosario and an error.

Blake Perkins remained red-hot with a two-run double in the fourth to put Somerset up 5-0.

Derek Dietrich hit a ground rule double in the fifth that plated two runs. Another wild pitch allowed Michael Beltre to score in the next inning for an 8-0 advantage.

Perkins then launched a solo home run (5) in the seventh, his fourth in three days. He finished the game 2-for-4 with a run and three RBI.

Jhony Brito (1-1) earned the win with five scoreless innings and five strikeouts. Karl Kauffman (1-1) suffered the loss with eight earned runs on nine hits in five innings of work.

The 2022 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Tuesday, April 26th with a 6:35 pm game against the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) at TD Bank Ballpark.
