Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse capped off a spectacular regular season by defeating Penn State 18-13 in front of nearly 1,300 in attendance, as the Scarlet Knights tied a program record for wins in a season with 13.

In addition to the win, Rutgers honored nine student-athletes for Senior Day prior to the game: Riley Ban, Sarah Cedarstrand, Marin Hartshorn, Stephanie Kelly, Taralyn Naslonski, Caroline Perry, Shannon Siebold, Alexi Watson, and Linda Zamrowski.

After a tight first half that saw Rutgers and Penn State trade goals with regularity, as RU went into the break with a slim 10-9 advantage, the Scarlet Knights went on an 8-2 run in the second half to pull away.

Cassidy Spilis had a huge afternoon for Rutgers, leading the way with fives goals, including three in the second half as Rutgers built an 18-11 lead.

Jenna Byrne, Taralyn Naslonski, Ashley Campo, and Marion Hartshorn all had three goals a piece in the victory.

Rutgers has one more regular season game left, at Ohio State on Thursday before the Big Ten Tournament opens up in early May.
