RUTGERS 14 – SAN DIEGO ST. 4

13th ranked Rutgers Women’s Lacorsse coasted to a convincing 14-4 victory in non-conference action, Saturday against San Diego State. The victory moves the ladies to 12-3 on the season, the most wins the program has enjoyed in a single season since 2007.

Leading the way was graduate student Taralyn Naslonski, who netted a game-high six goals on Saturday, giving her a team-leading 50 goals scored on the season. She scored the opening goal with 11:56 to go in the opening quarter, and would eventually score on three consecutive attempts to end the first quarter and open the second quarter, as Rutgers built an 8-1 lead.

Overall, eight different Rutgers players scored goals on Saturday. The list includes: Stephanie Kelly, Cassidy Spilis, Marin Hartshorn (2 goals), Ashley Moynahan, Kate Carolonza, Mikayla Dever, Jenna Byrne.

Defensively, Rutgers held San Diego State to just four goals, the ninth time an opponent has been held under double-digits this season. The Aztecs also committed 15 turnovers.
