RUTGERS 13 – MICHIGAN 12
Seventh ranked Rutgers men’s lacrosse tied a program record for wins in a season (11-2) in squeaking past Big Ten rival Michigan 13-12 on Saturday afternoon.
The Scarlet Knights were led by Ronan Jacoby, who had three goals, including the game winner with 3:44 to play in Ann Arbor.

Four other Rutgers players had multi-goal games as well, all of them two goals a piece. The list includes: Jack Aimone, Mitch Bartolo, Brian Cameron, Shane Knobloch, and Ryan Gallagher.
After Michigan’s Justin Brown scored the opening goal with 9:53 to go in the opening quarter, Rutgers would score six consecutive goals, two each from Aimone, Cameron and Gallagher as RU took a 6-1 lead, midway through the second quarter.
Rutgers would lead 9-3 before Michigan stormed back, scoring eight of the games next 10 goals, including scoring on five consecutive goals to knot the game up at 11.

Shane Knobloch would respond with a goal of his own to with 8:50 to go in the game to put Rutgers back in front 12-11. Michigan would tie it again on Jake Bonomki’s 25th goal of the season, setting up the winning shot by Ronan Jacoby.
Rutgers (11-2) wraps up the regular season next Saturday against Penn State.
