The Somerset Patriots (2-0) defeated the Reading Fightin Phils (0-2) 11-2 at FirstEnergy Stadium on Saturday evening.

The offense exploded for 18 hits, including a 3-for-3 performance with three doubles and three RBI by Oliver Dunn. Josh Breaux led the way with four RBI and his second home run (2) in as many days.

Chad Bell had two hits, two runs and three RBI in the game.

Rodolfo Duran blasted a home run (1) in the fourth, before Somerset batted around in the fifth. The five-runs came home that inning on a Breaux double, a Bell two-run single and Dunn’s two-run double for a commanding 8-0 advantage.

Breaux added three runs on his ninth inning homer to make the score 11-2.

Ken Waldichuk (1-0) had a solid 2022 debut with five scoreless innings pitched for the win. The Yankees No. 6 prospect struck out seven and gave up two hits on 64 pitches (39 strikes).
