Peacocks Showered with Jersey City Celebration on Friday Afternoon

The St. Peter's Peacocks may not be playing tonight in the Final Four, but supporters came out in droves to show their appreciation for what the men's college basketball team did during the month of March.

Over 5,000 revelers packed JFK Boulevard and adjacent streets around the Jersey City campus to thank the Peacocks for putting Jersey City on the national and international stage for its stunning upsets in the NCAA tournament.

The Peacocks, ranked 15th in the tournament, defeated 2nd ranked Kentucky, 7th ranked Murray State and 3rd ranked Purdue out of the East Regional to advance all the way to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history. They also became the first ever 15 seed to get as far as the Elite Eight in the history of the NCAA Tournament.
