Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse Has Two Mid-Season All Americans
Inside Lacrosse named a pair of Scarlet Knights to its list of Mid-Season All Americans for women’s lacrosse.
Junior defense-woman Megan Ball and Junior midfielder Cassidy Spilis were named to Mid-Season All American Second Team on Thursday.
Ball has 58 draw controls this season, 24 caused turnovers, and 32 ground balls this season. She leads the Scarlet Knights in all three categories.
Ball also owns one goal scored this season. Last season during her sophomore year, Ball was an Academic All Big Ten Selection, Inside Lacrosse All American (Honorable Mention), IWCLA All-Region (Second team), Tewaaraton Award Watch List, and All-Big Ten (First Team).
Meanwhile, Spilis has been an offensive force all season. She has 41 goals and 41 points this season. She has scored five goals in a game four times this year already. She also owns 32 draw controls, and is 13-of-19 in face-offs.
In her three years at Rutgers, Spilis owns 108 goals and 112 points.
Last season, Spilis was an Academic All Big Ten selection, IWLCA All-American, Inside Lacrosse All-American (Honorable Mention), IWLCA All-Region (First Team), Tewaaraton Award Watch List, All-Big Ten (First Team), and All Big Ten Tournament Team.
The women are 10-1 on the season having defeated Michigan on Thursday afternoon.
