Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse Upends Michigan in Big Ten Clash
RUTGERS 13 – MICHIGAN 8
Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse (14th in the nation) earned a huge conference victory over 13th ranked Michigan by a count of 13-8 to move to 10-1 on the season and 2-1 in the Big Ten Conference.
Graduate student Taralyn Naslonski posted a season high seven-points on six goals, moving her into second place on Rutgers’ all-time points list.

Naslonski’s first goal of the game with 2:27 to go in the opening quarter gave Rutgers a 2-1 lead. Cassidy Spilis, who also had a huge afternoon with four goals of her own, netted her second goal of the period on a feed Marin Hartshorn to give Rutgers a 3-1 advantage.
Both teams would trade goals before Naslonski scored on back to back shots to give the Scarlet Knights a 6-3 advantage.
Michigan would score three of the next four goals of the contest, with Julie Schwabe, Claire Gavin and Kaley Thompson all scoring for the Wolverines to cut Rutgers lead down to one, 7-6.
Rutgers responded, scoring four consecutive goals; two of the coming off the stick of Jenna Byrne, while Naslonski and Ashley Moynahan tallied a goal a piece to push the RU lead to 11-6 midway through the fourth quarter.
