METS 7 - CARDINALS 4

It's one thing to have two of the best starting pitchers in all of Major League Baseball in the same rotation, it's another when both of them are pitching in the same game! That was the case on Sunday, as the Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer got their work in against the St. Louis Cardinals as the Mets topped the Red Birds 7-4.

With a week and a half left before the regular season begins April 7 in Washington, both deGrom and Scherzer look ready to rock and roll.

deGrom looked sharp in his second outing of spring training, giving up only a run on four hits over three innings of work. He walked none and struck out five.

Scherzer had his longest out of the spring season, going six innings in relief, striking out seven and giving up only a pair of runs. He threw 89 pitches, his highest pitch total of the spring.

Meanwhile, Francisco Lindor continues to rake with the bat this spring. The Mets $341 million short stop went 3-for-4 on the afternoon with a pair of home runs, one from each side of the plate.

Back-up catcher Tomas Nido also had a big day for the Mets, corking a two-run homer in the second inning to power the Amazin's to a 3-0 lead.

The Mets have six spring training games left on the docket, and currently stand at 5-3.
