Head Coach Brian Daboll and General Manager Joe Schoen made it clear on their first day running free agency for the New York Giants that Big Blue is going to retool itself from the inside out.
That is exactly what happened Monday as the Giants added a pair of offensive lineman to a unit that has been considered one of the weakest in the NFL in recent years.
The Giants signed former Indianapolis Colts guard Mark Glowinski to a three-year deal, and former Buffalo Bills lineman Jon Feliciano. The Giants have been looking to upgrade the guard position after the struggles of Will Hernandez in recent years, and they feel taking a flier on Glowinksi, who rates high as a run blocker could be a welcome addition.
Feliciano has moved around the line throughout his career. He looked upon more as a center, although not considered a starter by some scouts. At the very least he comes to New York City with familiarity in Brian Daboll's offense, which was run up in Buffalo.
In addition, the Giants added two value players at wide receiver in C.J. Board and Robert Foster. Both inked one-year deals.
In short, the Giants may not appear to be breaking bank on name talent like the Jets are, but they are the very least adding needed depth to the roster.
