RUTGERS 9 - JAMES MADISON 1

Coming off a pair of losses to Liberty, the Scarlet Knights bounced back with a 9-1 win over James Madison, the same team that made it all the way to the Final Four of the Women's College World Series.

Rutgers was powered by multi-hit games from four players at the top of the order: Kyleigh Sand (2-for-4, run scored); Payton Lincavage (2-for-4, two runs scored); Gabrielle Callaway (2-for-4, run scored), and Maddie Lawson (2-for-4, two runs scored, and an RBI).

Megan Herka got the ball rolling for Rutgers with a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning to give RU a 1-0 lead.

Rutgers tacked on a pair of runs in the fourth when a wild pitch to Herka brought home Maddie Lawson. Mya Mancini later scored on a throwing error by the catcher as Kobie Hura was trying to steal second.

In the fifth Lawson doubled down the left field line to drive in Lincavage with the game's fourth run to give Rutgers a 4-1 lead. Rutgers would later tack on three more runs all based on errors by James Madison.

On the hill Jaden Vickers pitched brilliantly. He held James Madison to just a run on a single hit. She walked three and struck out ten for the complete game victory. Vickers is 8-2 with 2.52 ERA on the season.
