Kevin Durant Returns To The Brooklyn Nets
Today, (Thursday, March 3) the Brooklyn Nets will be getting their star Kevin Durant back from injury. Durant sat out the last 21 games with a left MCL strain.
Before the injury, the Nets were one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference and Durant was playing like an MVP. Since he got hurt the team went 5-16 including an 11 game losing streak.
While Durant was out things had changed with his team. James Harden was traded for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two future first round picks. Kyrie Irving still cannot play homes games due to the New York City vaccine mandate.
The Nets are now 32-31 and are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference. With 19 games left in the season this team will have to ramp it up if they want to at least make it out of the play-in tournament. Durant remains confident in the team to turn it around before the playoffs.

“I can be confident all I want, if we don’t go out there and actually put the work in then nothing going to happen.” Durant said.
After the All-Star break Durant returned to practice and was around the team a lot more over the last couple of weeks. Durant expressed the importance of becoming healthy before coming back.
“I still felt some pain in my knee throughout the losing streak. And obviously I know I can go out there and help but I didn’t want myself even more trying to go out there even more and be a superhero, just to be out there.” Said Durant.
As the Nets are gearing up for the final push for the regular season Durant touched base on Simmons and how he is doing. As Simmons was ramping up his workouts to get back on the court he injured his back. No timetable on when he will be able to make his Nets debut.
“Just being patient with his health, just monitoring him every day and seeing where he can go from here,” Durant said.
