Calk it up a little sibling rivalry, but Jack Hughes powered the Devils to a thunderous 7-2 win over Hughes' brother Quinn and his Vancouver Canucks on Monday night.
Hughes scored the opening goal of the game midway through the first period, and later paired with Dawson Mercer on an assist to Yegor Sharangovich for a goal that pushed the Devils to a 2-0 lead. New Jersey would never look back.
Dawson Mercer would tally the third goal of the opening period as New Jersey extended its lead to 3-0.
After a Vancouver score made it 3-1, the Devils scored three goals in a matter of 3:18 seconds as Jesper Boqvist, Ryan Graves and Jesper Bratt all scored to push the Devils lead up to 6-1.
New Jersey improved to 19-29-5 with the victory.
