Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse opened the season Saturday with a 16-8 win. Rutgers Athletics.

Rutgers Women's Lacrosse (ranked 17th) is off to a flying start to the 2022 season after a dominating 16-8 win over Delaware on Saturday afternoon.

The Ladies were powered by Graduate student Taralyn Naslonski, who netted a game-high four goals in the victory.

Rutgers never trailed, tied only once, at 1-1, before Cassidy Spilis first quarter goal ignited a 3-0 run. Naslonski netted her first two goals of the game, following Spilis goal to power Rutgers to a 4-1 lead with 3:51 to go in the first quarter.

Naslonski and Spilis would combine for three more goals to open the second quarter as Rutgers built their lead to 7-2. Soon Marin Hartshorn, Stephanie Kelly, and Jenna Bryne got into the action with goals of their own to push Rutgers to an insurmountable 10-2 advantage.

Spilis and Hartshorn each finished with three goals, while Kelly had a pair of goals in the win.

Sophia Cardello got the victory recording six saves over 53 minutes of action at goal for the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers (1-0) takes on Army on Wednesday.
