Brookyln Nets Losing Skid Hits Six Games
KINGS 112 – NETS 101
Things are going from bad to worse for the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn suffered its sixth consecutive loss, 112-101 to a Sacramento Kings team that had lost seven straight heading into Wednesday night’s clash. The Nets blew an 86-83 lead they carried into the fourth quarter, as the Kings outscored them 29-15 in the final stanza.
“It’s just, we got to go out there and do it, and do it consistently,” James Harden told reporters afterwards. “We have times when we’re great, and we have times when we’re really bad. We just got to find some consistency throughout the course of games more times than not.”
Harden had a really quiet night, shooting 2-for-11 from the floor, including 0-for-5 from downtown. He finished with four points.
Even Kyrie Irving had a silent night for the Nets with 14 points of 5-of-15 shooting.
Things have not been easy for Brooklyn, a team that has been decimated by both injury and inconsistency all year. Kevin Durant (MCL) is still nursing a knee injury and is weeks away from returning.
“You know just as good as I do,” Harden said when asked why the consistency hasn’t been there for the group. “We just got a lot of different things internally — lineups, we haven’t had no continuity yet. So it’s just one of those things where you got to keep going. There’s nothing else to do but keep going, keep pushing forward.”
