RUTGERS 63 - NEBRASKA 61

Needing a victory in the worst way, Rutgers men's basketball put together a dramatic comeback in the late stages of the second half of their game against Nebraska to stun the Cornhuskers 63-61. The win gives Rutgers (12-8) its sixth victory in the Big 10 Conference this season after suffering consecutive losses to Minnesota and Maryland.

The win was also Rutgers' second win on the road this season.

Rutgers trailed by as many as 11-points before they started chipping away at the deficit. With 3:53 to go in regulation, Ron Harper Jr. nailed a three-pointer near the top of the key to bring Rutgers to within one point, 55-54.

Later with 2:31 to go and Nebraska nursing a 60-57 lead, Geo Baker bounced off a defender and dropped a step-back jump shot through the nets to bring Rutgers back to within one.

After a defensive rebound, Baker took another long distance shot that hit the rim, bounced up in the air and landed in the hands of Paul Mulcahy, who posted up and put it back into the net to give Rutgers its first lead of the night with 1:38 to go at 61-60.

Ron Harper added a pair of free throws in the waning seconds to pad the lead for Rutgers. A missed three pointer by Nebraska's Kobe Webster with 0.9 seconds to go iced it for Rutgers.

Baker led the Scarlet Knights with 14 points on 6-of-18 shooting. Mulchay had 10 points, Harper seven points. Mawot Mag had a great day off the bench, shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free throw line with 13 points.
