Knicks Lose Third Straight at the Garden, Knicks Fans Panic Ensues
The New York Knicks are in the midst of a major slump, falling to the lowly New Orleans Pelicans 102-91 at the Garden last night. New York has now lost three straight games, all of them at home.
The Knicks shot only 37 percent from the floor, and Julius Randle had a dreadful night, shooting 1-for-9 from the floor, and 0-for-2 from downtown, with only four points on the night. Randle, who was already in hot water for give fans a “thumbs down” a couple weeks ago, angrily pushed away teammates during the defeat. The boos came early and often.
I’m a Julius Randle supporter, but this completely changes my perspective on him. This is not what we need from our “leader” nor is it good for team culture. He is deep in his own head and it might be time for a change. https://t.co/HynSKi74Nb

After trailing the Pelicans 46-42 at the break, New Orleans blew out the Knicks 35-15 in the third quarter to carry an 81-57 advantage into the final stanza.
“When things aren’t going our way Julius is going to take a lot of the blame,” Head Coach Tom Thibodeau said. “But, it’s a team game and we have to get out of it as a team. It wasn’t one particular play or incident. Things just weren’t going our way.”
As the game wore on, and the aftermath of another loss became pretty obvious, Knicks fans and New York media went ballistic on social media.
Everyone on this team should be on the trade block.

I’m looking for a reason to believe in the Knicks.

This team is feeling the boos. They look dejected, they look sluggish. This is where a leader steps up and pulls some effort out of this team for at least the final quarter. But that’s not here. I’ll say it again #Knicks fans will forgive subpar performances if effort is there

To be fair, Randle wasn’t the only player who had a bad night for New York. Evan Fournier had six points on a 2-of-8 night shooting; Kemba Walker went 1-for-5 with 5 points. Immanuel Quickly went 4-of-13 with 14 points.
The Knicks, 22-24, host the Clippers on Sunday. If the past few games at the Garden are any indication, Knicks fans will not be patient for another defeat or poor performance.
