WISCONSIN 49 - RUTGERS 45

Osh Brown had her 55th career double-double, and Rutgers Women's Basketball built a seemingly dominant 19-7 first quarter lead, but in the end, it wasn't enough as Wisconsin stunned the Scarlet Knights 49-45 at Jersey Mike's Arena, Sunday afternoon.

Brown led Rutgers with 11 points and 10 boards, and Lasha Petree added 10 points of her own, but Rutgers offensive prowess on the glass went cold after a first quarter where it hit on 69 percent from the floor. In the remaining three quarters, Rutgers made only 10-of-27 shots, or 37 percent from the field.

By comparison, Wisconsin, which started out shooting a paltry 2-for-11 (18.1 percent) from the field in the first quarter, was a combined 16-of-37 (43. 2 percent) the rest of the way.

Even with the poor shooting night in the second half, Rutgers still maintained a 41-39 with 5:40 to go in the game. They just couldn't finish.

Wisconin's Julie Pospisilova tied the game on a jumper with 4:58 to go. A missed three pointer by Petree, and a Rutgers turnover set up another layup for Pospisiolva on the return end to give Wisconsin a 43-41 lead. The Badgers would never look back.

Rutgers is now 7-12 on the season, and 0-7 in the Big 10. Rutgers will visit Nebraska on Thursday at 8 p.m.
