Rutgers Wrestling to Host Illinois Friday Night
Sixteenth ranked Rutgers Wrestling (11-1, 1-1) will look to rebound for last week’s loss out in Madison, Wisconsin when they square off with No. 21 Illinois on Friday night from Jersey Mike’s Arena.
Of course the big story heading into the match are the three unbeaten wrestlers for Rutgers: Sebastian Rivera (14-0), John Poznanski (12-0) and Greg Bulsak (14-0). They are three of the Top 10 wrestlers as ranked by Intermat, and are a combined 40-0 this season with wins over 15 ranked opponents.
The Scarlet Knights lineup will be as follows:
125 lb: Dylan Shawver (13-3) vs. Justin Cardani (9-2).
133 lb: Joseph Olivieri (15-3) or Devon Britton (7-6) vs. Lucas Byrd (10-1).
141 lb: Sebastian Rivera (14-0) vs. We Rachal (8-8) -OR- 5/NR/6 Dylan Duncan
149 lb: Michael VanBrill (10-1) vs. Christian Kanzler (8-5) -OR- NR/NR/16 Mike Carr.
157 lb: Robert Kanniard (6-6) or Al DeSantis (9-5) vs. Joe Roberts (9-7).
165 lb: Andrew Clark (10-11) vs. Danny Braunagel (7-5).
174 lb: Jackson Turley (3-3) or Connor O’Neil (9-7) vs. DJ Shannon (4-4).
184 lb: John Poznanski (12-0) vs. Zac Braunagel (6-2).
197 lb: Greg Bulsak (14-0) vs. Matt Wroblewski (4-2).
Heavyweight: Boone McDermott (9-6) vs. Luke Luffman (10-2).
