Ron Harper's terrific season is getting some well deserved recognition. The senior was named All-Met Player of the Week for the second time this season in Division I by the Met Basketball Writers Association.

Harper, a native of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, who went to Don Bosco Prep, averaged 24.5 points per game last week in leading the Scarlet Knights (9-5, 3-1) to a pair of Big Ten Conference victories at home over Michigan (75-67) and Nebraska (93-65). The triumphs extended Rutgers' current winning streak to four games, a streak they will look to extend tonight when the Scarlet Knights visit Penn State.

Harper had 20 points and six boards in the Scarlet Knights first-ever win over Michigan last Tuesday. He nailed 7-of-13 shots from the floor, including 5-of-6 from three-point range.

Harper followed that up last Thursday night with 29 points against Nebraska as he connected on 8-of-13 shots from the floor, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line.

Harper leads the team in field goals made (74), three-pointers made (31) and free throws. He is currently averaging 16.3 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game.
