Unable to slow down the shooting of Minnesota's Jasmine Powell, Rutgers lost its second straight, 62-49 to Minnesota at Jersey Mike's Arena to fall to 7-9 on the season. Rutgers is now 0-4 in Big 10 play.

Powell led the Golden Gophers with 19 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor, a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, and 9-for-11 from the charity stripe.

Rutgers found itself in a huge hole early, falling behind 7-0 thanks to a pair of three-pointers by Sara Scalia and Deja Winters in the opening two minutes of the first quarter.

While Rutgers fought back to cut the deficit to two-points, 17-15 after the first quarter, they couldn't slow down Minnesota's offense in the second quarter as the Gophers posted 21 points to take a 38-32 lead into the break. Minnesota would never trail.

Powell would contribute 11-points in the quarter for Minnesota, including nailing five consecutive free-throws to end the quarter before the break.

Shug Dickson had a huge night for Rutgers off the bench. She played 37-minutes, contributing 17-points on 7-of-13 shooting.

Osh Brown also had a nice night for RU, adding 13 points of her own over 33-minutes of play. She even had a sweet step-back jumper at the end of the third quarter that cut the Rutgers deficit to seven.

Rutgers will face off with Michigan on Sunday at 12 noon. Game can be seen on Fox Sports 1.
