Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Writes to NFL over “Fan Tumble”

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has written the NFL and the Washington Football Team over the handling of a collapsed railing that led to a group of fans tumbling down onto the field while he was passing by after last Sunday's game.

"I tried to handle the situation with a lot of poise and show compassion for the people that fell down, really, but I know it could have been so much worse," Hurts said Tuesday. "It kind of didn't hit me until after the fact, having some time to reflect on it and think about it. I just wanted to see what could be done to make sure it doesn't happen again. That's all I really care about."

The NFL also released a statement later Tuesday.

"We appreciate Jalen's concerns and have been reviewing the incident with the Washington Football Team," NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy said.

Washington released a statement Sunday evening, reading in part: "To our knowledge, everyone involved was offered on-site medical evaluation and left the stadium of their own accord."

According to ESPN, four individuals who fell and suffered minor injuries say they were not offered medical attention.

ESPN also reported a New Jersey resident named Mike Naimoli, experienced neck and arm pain and was taken to the hospital. "he was diagnosed with a cervical strain and a head injury along with elbow and knee contusions, documents show," according to the ESPN report.

This is not the first time FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland has met controversy. Earlier in the season, sewage pipes exploded over fans during a game in September.

Last year FedEx Field was ranked as the worst stadium in the National Football League.
