7:30 Tip off.

Listen: Fox Sports New Jersey 93.5 FM, 1450 AM.

It's the battle between two of New Jersey's premiere college basketball programs. Seton Hall vs. Rutgers.

It has been two years since these two old rivals have seen one another. The last time they met at the Jersey Mike's Arena, when it was still named the RAC, Rutgers won big, 68-48 over 22nd ranked Seton Hall. Ron Harper Jr. had 18 points that night to lead the way for Rutgers.

Thanks to COVID-19, these two foes didn't play one another last season, and this year's classic figures to be a memorable one. Both clubs come in riding a wave of momentum from spirited wins earlier in the week.

Seton Hall beat number 7 Texas 64-60 last week, and have now won five in a row. The Pirates are also 6-0 at home. At 8-1 on the season, Seton Hall is ranked 23rd in the nation, and already owns signature wins over Texas and Michigan.

Guard Jared Rhoden has led the way for the Pirates, averaging a little over 17 points per game and 7 rebounds per contest. Guard Myles Cale is a player to watch from beyound the arc. He is averaging 40 percent from three-point land.

Meanwhile, Rutgers is riding high after upsetting the number one team in the land, the Purdue Boilermakers 70-68.

Ron Harper Jr. has made the national circuit for his last second mid-court-game winner. Harper and Geo Baker will need big nights on the floor for Rutgers to pull another upset over in the Prudential Center.

Remember to catch the game tonight on your home for Rutgers sports, 93.5 FM, 1450 AM, Fox Sports New Jersey.
