Rutgers’ Isiah Pacheco Accepts Invites to Hula and Shrine Bowls, Declares for NFL Draft

After leading the Scarlet Knights in rushing yards this past season, Isiah Pacheco is soaking it all in, accepting invites to two major All Star games that will go along way in impressing scouts ahead of the NFL Draft.

A week ago it was reported by Sports Illustrated that Pacheco declared for the draft, forgoing his season year in 2022. Pacheco will participate in the Hula Bowl scheduled for January 15 in Orlando, Florida. The East-West Shrine game will take place in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 3.

Pacheco started all 12 games for the Scarlet Knights this season, rushing for 647 yards on 167 carries and five touchdowns.  He finishes his Rutgers tenure with 2,442 career rushing yards to rank seventh in program history, with his 563 carries sixth. In addition, he is ranked 11th in the school record book with 3,039 career all-purpose yards. Pacheco was voted a 2021 team captain.

He was also named Big 10 Honorable Mention in both the coaches and media polls.

Pacheco isn't the only Rutgers football player entering the draft early,  linebacker Drew Singleton and defensive end Mike Tverdov are also entering early.

Wide receiver Bo Melton will attend the Senior Bowl which is typically a final game-action walk through for potential NFL rookies leading up to the draft.
