Rutgers Field Hockey (18-3) will open up the NCAA Tournament this morning at 11 a.m. against Delaware in Piscataway.

Rutgers, who is ranked as a number 1 seed in the tournament, is back in the Big Dance for the first time since 2018 and third time since 1986.

This year's club smashed the record books.  Rutgers captured the first Big 10 Tournament Title in program history, and became the first sport in school history to win the Big 10 Tournament.

Their 18 wins this season has blown away the previous mark of 15 victories set in 1986, and Rutgers owns 12 wins versus ranked teams. Should they beat Delaware today, it will be the programs' 13th victory over a ranked opponent.

10 players on the current Rutgers roster were members of the team back in 2018 when it made its last appearance in the NCAA Tournament. All time, Rutgers is 2-3 in the tournament.

Should Rutgers take care of business this morning against Delaware, they will face the winner Liberty vs. St. Joe's. That game is also taking place at Rutgers today at approximately 1:30 p.m.
