Brookyln's five game winning streak came to a screeching halt Monday night as the Chicago Bulls blew past the Nets with a 42-point fourth quarter to turn what was a tug-of-war between two good teams into a blowout.
Chicago had six players in double-figures, including 28 points from DeMar DeRozan and 24 points from Zach LaVine.
In a game that was locked up at 80-a-piece early in the fourth quarter, a barrage of layups and three pointers started falling for Chicago. When DeRozan's 15-foot pull back jump sank with 8:19 to go in the game, it was suddenly a nine-point Bulls lead, 89-80.
After a Kevin Durant jumper, Alex Caruso and Nikola Vucevic nailed a couple of three pointers to expand their lead to 11 points at 95-84, all but ending any hopes of a Brooklyn comeback.
Durant was once again a one man show for the Nets, scoring 38 points to lead the team. LaMarcus Alridge was second on the team in scoring with 19 points. Overall Brookyln shot only 39 percent from the field.
