“To be able to keep the season going in NCAA Tournament play is amazing,” head coach Meridith Civico told scarletknights.com. “To have won the tournament in the best field hockey conference in the NCAA is going to set us up for success moving forward. We’re so grateful to be able to continue to play.
The NCAA Tournament appearance is the fourth in the program’s history. RU last made the NCAA Tournament in 2018, and also went to the NCAA Tournament in 1986 and 1984. The Scarlet Knights are 2-3 all-time in NCAA Tournament play.
Iowa is ranked number 2 in the NCAA Bracket, with Michigan, the team Rutgers defeated 1-0 in Sunday’s Championship game, ranked third in the tournament. Penn State is ranked fourth.

Men’s and women’s soccer are both awaiting to hear from the NCAA about their placement in their respective tournaments. Women’s soccer, who won the Big 10 regular season title, and won 13-straight games, had their run halted by Michigan in the Big 10 Title game 1-0. Men’s soccer completed a 9-6-2 season. They bowed out of the Big 10 Tournament on Sunday in the quarterfinals against Indiana.
