Men’s soccer exits Big 10 Tournament with 1-0 Loss to Indiana
They gave it their all, but it wasn’t enough as Rutgers men’s soccer exited the quarterfinals of the Big 10 Tournament with a 1-0 loss to Indiana.
It was a uphill battle for the sixth seeded Scarlet Knights after leading scorer and All-Big Ten Second Team selection Jackson Temple left the game in the sixth minute with an injury and didn’t return to action.
Still, Rutgers held Indiana scoreless for the first 27 minutes of the game, and kept them for attempting a shot at goal for 20 minutes.
However at 26:53, Indiana’s Samuel Sarver took a feed from Daniel Munie, and nailed the lone goal of the day for the Hoosiers.
While Rutgers out-shot Indiana 8-5, and 3-2 on shots on goal, the Scarlet Knights couldn’t get the ball past Big 10 Goalie of the Year, Roman Celentano.
At 9-6-2, the Scarlet Knights will have to wait a little bit before finding out whether they qualify for the NCAA Tournament which begins November 17.
