Rutgers' women's soccer isn't the only soccer program making postseason noise this fall. The men are doing it too.
Rutgers' men's soccer punched its own ticket to the Big 10 Tournament as a sixth seed with a 4-0 victory over Ohio State on Sunday.
The men (9-5-1) will face Indiana on November 7 in Bloomington.
Sophomore Ola Maeland netted the first goal of the game at the 35 minute mark to give RU an early 1-0 lead.
Junior Jackson Temple made it 2-0 on an unassisted goal at the 47 minute mark; his sixth goal of the season. Finally sophomore Colin Beasley posted his first two goals of the season late in the second half at the 81st and 85th minute marks as Rutgers ran away with it.
Goalie Oren Asher was terrific in net for RU, recording four saves in the shutout. According to Scarletknights.com, Asher's seven shutouts are the most by an RU goalkeeper in a season since David Greczek's eight in 2015.
