One of the biggest streaming platforms on the planet could soon find a home base in New Jersey.

Netflix is looking to make a legitimate bid at the old Fort Monmouth Army Base to become a new television and film production studio. The 96-year old armory was closed by the Pentagon back in 2011.

Bids on the site are due January 12. According to the New York Times, Netflix would not reveal the price tag.

Governor Murphy and his administration are reportedly on-board with the project.

“I am incredibly excited to hear about Netflix’s proposed investment,” Mr. Murphy said in a statement on Tuesday. “While there is an objective process that any and all applications will have to go through, this is yet more evidence that the economic plan my administration has laid out is working and bringing high-quality, good-paying jobs to our state.”

Should Netflix win the bid, the 300 acre site would be the second largest production site owned by Netflix, next to it's ABQ Studio out in New Mexico.
