FLAMES 5 - RANGERS 1
Not a good night for the Broadway Blueshirts as they were totally overpowered by the Calgary Flames, who rallied to score three unanswered goals in the third period - en route to a 5-1 victory.
The Rangers (4-2-1) dropped their second straight at home with the loss. Their first home loss was to Dallas in overtime last week.
Igor Shesterkin was charged with the loss, giving up five goals on 37 shots by Calgary. It was the most goals he has given up in a game since last May at Washington.
Kevin Rooney had the lone goal for the Rangers at the 5:25 mark of the third period that cut Calgary's lead to 2-1. However, Calgary's Blake Coleman netted his second goal of the season some three minutes later on a double-assist to put the Flames up 3-1.
The Flames would not look back as Mikael Backlund and Andrew Mangiapane scored on consecutive shots to blow the game wide open.
