BUCKS 127 - NETS 104
If the Nets are going to go anywhere near the NBA Finals this season, they are going to have to get through the Milwaukee Bucks. Not exactly a surprising statement, but a fact.
The defending NBA Champion Bucks looked the part on Opening night with "the Greek Freak" Giannis Antetokounmpo dishing out 32 points and 14 boards as Milwaukee won going away 127-104.
The Nets only led once the entire night when Nic Claxton hit an alley oop dunk to give Brooklyn the early 2-0 lead. They would never lead at any point in this game again.
The Bucks would hold a lead as big as 18 points in the first quarter when Jrue Holliday knocked down a 27-foot three pointer to make it 31-12.
The closest the Nets got was within five points, 39-34, with 10:07 to go in the second quarter on James Harden's three pointer. However the Bucks would go on a 15-3 run to take a 55-37 lead with 5:30 to go in the half. The Bucks basically turned out the lights after that.
Kevin Durant led the way for Brooklyn with 32 points and 11 boards; James Harden had 20 points and three rebounds in defeat.
The Nets (0-1) visit the Sixers on Friday.
