With two more games left in the regular season this week, Rutgers can clinch the outright title with either a win or a tie in either match.
The Lady Scarlet Knights scored the lone goal of the afternoon when sophomore Allison Lowrey slammed the ball home to the back of the net in the 61st minute. Freshman Riley Tiernan got the assist.
According to ScarletKnights.com, “The Scarlet Knights nine straight victories is the longest win streak in program history, topping the 2015 squad with its streak of eight consecutive triumphs.
It marks the first Big Ten team title for Rutgers Athletics since joining the league in 2014.”
